As we first posted about in August, CTS are making a global difference with International Needs; by supporting RUSH Academy, a school for poor and vulnerable children in Western Kenya. CTS are providing education as a route out of poverty.
Through our ongoing monthly support, RUSH Academy are able to pay for a teacher, 40 school books or 400 school meals, depending on the greatest needs. This regular funding enables them to plan how best to support the children in their care. Thank you to all our customers who continue to make it possible for us to support this work.
International Needs who are helping some of the poorest families around the world. International Needs are a Christian mission and development agency working in 26 countries to help families who are struggling in poverty and crisis. They believe in local leadership and enable national leaders to drive projects in support of real long-term change for their communities. Andrew and Lucy Amukowa who run RUSH Academy in Kenya are an incredible couple with a big heart for the poor. Living much of their life in Kibera slum, they felt called to Western Kenya to serve families there. Starting with women’s support groups, they now run many community development programmes such as running RUSH Schools for 550 poor and vulnerable children. This school is providing real life-changing opportunities for these children, with many of them going on to university and into employment. With increased income, they can support their families and futures better. It is to this end that CTS are proud to be supporting the project.
